What’s New in the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander?
Nearly everything is new with the 2022 Outlander. Mitsubishi redesigned its flagship model with a snazzy, futuristic exterior, and decorative interior. The exterior was completely retouched with a dynamic front shield, wide stance, and a strong horizontally structured body that oozes conviction. New LED headlights were placed both high and low, which provides improved recognition from drivers. Though restyled, the Outlander remains unmistakably Mitsubishi with a focus on turning heads and redefining the future.
The interior of the Outlander was redesigned with Japanese hospitality in mind. As such, Mitsubishi focused on even the smallest of details ranging from the knobs and dials, to the design of the steering wheel and display controls. And it shows. The Outlander is decorated with quality interior accents and surfaces. These creature comforts reside within a roomy cabin that seats seven in its three rows of seats. The Outlander also offers 33.5 cubic feet of cargo space with an extended door frame that makes loading and unloading easy.
The Outlander houses a 181-horsepower 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, which is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard with all-wheel drive remaining optional. Drive modes include Eco, Normal, Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud. The Outlander is equipped with Brake Active Yaw Control, which was designed to improve handling.
Tech-wise, Mitsubishi graced the Outlander with a standard 8-inch touchscreen (a 9-inch screen is available). The infotainment system includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay®, navigation, wireless phone charging, among others.
