DELLA Mitsubishi

For a lot of people, driving provides a special kind of freedom they can’t get anywhere else. A sort of therapy or catharsis they crave in the midst of their hectic daily lives. For others though, their commute, or driving as a whole, is the cause of immense stress, and at times, anger. If you identify with the later, these ways to create a mindful commute from meditation expert Gabby Bernstein, could turn things around!

When you’re running late– No one likes being late, but getting angry, and speaking down to yourself won’t get you there any faster. Bernstein suggests to show a little self-compassion and understand that some things are out of your control. Using this tactic, even if you arrive a little late, you’ll get where you’re going in high spirits, ready to rock the day.

If you’re stuck in traffic– Seeing a long line of tail lights will increase just about anyones blood pressure. So the next time your daily commute involves bumper to bumper traffic, try employing some centering breather exercises. This will relax your nervous system and reset your brain to help you stay calm.

On your daily commute– You’re not alone if the thought of your daily commute is a starting point for stress. Instead of using this time to make an immense to-do list, envision yourself getting your entire to-do list done. Picture yourself nailing that presentation, getting that stack of work done and done right, then punching out and heading home on time! Using visualization techniques like this can be a powerful motivator.

Of course, all of these situations would immediately become less stressful in a new Mitsubishi. So if you’d like to start enjoying driving again, stop by DELLA Mitsubishi, we have just what you need.

We’ve all gotten stuck behind, or even worse, in, a terrible smelling vehicle. There are a number of reasons why your vehicle might be considered the stinky one. Sometimes it’s as small as food rolling under your seat a week ago, but it could be as big as a fluid leak that needs attention. Check out these possible smell creators and see if you can work to get that new car smell back!

  1. Your brakes or clutch needs to be looked at. – If you’re smelling something harsh, acrid, or burning, it could be your clutch or brakes. The reason for it could be riding your brakes, leaving the emergency brake on, a stuck caliper, or frozen parking brake.
  2. There is a leak in your heater core. – If this is the issue, you’re going to smell something sweet. While this might be more pleasant than the previous issue, it’s still not good. If you’re smelling something as sweet as candy, and you know you haven’t lost any in your vents recently, you’re probably smelling antifreeze. You’ll smell it on the inside of your car and you may also notice a filmy fog on the windshield when the heat is on.
  3. Water is getting where it shouldn’t. – We all know that damp musty smell of things left in the washer too long. If you’re getting that in your car, there is probably water pooling somewhere. Leaky doors or windows can let water in so keep an eye out for damp seats or floors.
  4. You have an oil leak. – If oil is leaking and drips on any part of your exhaust system, you’ll smell burning oil. To make things worse it can create a big, thick cloud or blue smoke if it gets bad enough.
  5. The catalytic converter is broken. – These are emissions control components that alter exhaust gasses. When they aren’t working properly, you’ll get a rotten egg smell that you’ll want to address fast.

If you’re experiencing any of these smells in your vehicle, stop by DELLA Mitsubishi. Our service department will be happy to take a look at it for you. Also, be sure to take a look at your service and parts specials, and you could get an even better deal!

If you’re an avid car lover, a person that some would call a gearhead, there are few places that you just have to see in your lifetime. We have a few of these destinations below for you to add to your bucket list, but be sure to check back for more!

Rally School– You get to put a rented rally car to the test for a full three days, or in other words, have the best weekend ever. Sure you’ll leave with some great pictures, but you’ll also become a more skilled driver.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed– What better way to celebrate learning how to be a better driver, than going to a place where the pros will put you to shame? The festival takes place in England, but it’s well worth the trip. It is the only place you can see vintage grand prix racers, Group B rally cars, and the newest F1 cars all on the same track.

The 24-Hours of LeMons– This event is for those with a sense of humor and a love for racing. Buy a $500 car with your team and prep it with safety gear and get it track ready. You’ll be going head to head with a few dozen other teams for the grand prize, $500 in nickels!

The 24-Hours of Le Mans– After you have fun at your own team racing event, head back to Europe to see how the greatest endurance drivers in the world do it. For a full 24-Hours, you’ll be treated to an automotive symphony as the most advanced vehicles tear around the Circuit de la Sarthe.

The Tail of the Dragon– If you’re looking to stay stateside, there is still tons to see. Head down to North Carolina and Virginia and look for the following signs: Tail of the Dragon, Diamondback, Devil’s Staircase, Moonshiner and Blue Ridge Parkway. The tracks will talk for themselves.

Between play dates, meetings, and pets, it’s pretty easy to have a vehicle interior that’s always in a bit of a chaotic state. However, if you’re craving a little organization in all that chaos, we’re here to help. The best part? It’s easy!

  1. Make a Car Kit– This is simple, easy and changes with the seasons. Think about what emergency gear you might need in the winter versus what you’d need in the middle of summer. Then get a nice, deep container to keep it all in. That way if there is an emergency of any sort, you have your supplies on hand.
  2. Use Clear, Easy to Grab Pouches– Mesh ones with a zipper are perfect for this. If you’re out with the kids for the day and need to tend to a quick accident, you won’t have to dig for bandages, ointments or tweezers. If you place them all in a bag where you can see it, you can act quick.
  3. Use a File Folder– So, you get pulled over and need your registration and proof of insurance, only the kids were looking for tissues the other day and your glove box is a mess- can you picture it? Try a file a folder. Keep everything vehicle related in it and alphabetized and never have that panic again!
  4. Make Your Own Tissue Dispenser– An empty coffee cup with a lid is ideal. Runny noses happen and instead of twisting around to hand tissues to the back seat, why not make sure they have their own within reach. Put it in the cup holder next to them and you’re good to go!
  5. Use a Jewelry Tray– These small compartments will grow to be life savers. If you’re always digging for chapstick, sunglasses, change, or chargers, you’ll thank the organization gods for this one!

See! No big deal and everything is a little more neat and tidy. After an organizational overhaul, you’ll be able to handle your busy schedule no problem!
