When your teen is ready for their first vehicle we are sure that what they want and what you want are probably a little different. For most teens, it is all about the look. The eye-catching body and smooth, sculpted lines draw them in before they have even gotten behind the wheel. This means that the vehicles all have a starting MSRP of less than $20,000 and earned “Good” ratings in all of the IIHS crash safety tests. A shorter month didn’t stop Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. from turning out an impressive sales result. In fact, total February sales were up 38.8 percent over February 2016 after ending the month with 10,924 units sold. Sales were once again led by the popular Outlander with 3,665 units. Total sales for the month were up an outstanding 72.8 percent from last year making this its best February sales since 2003. The Mirage & Mirage G4 also had quite the impressive year-over-year increase, achieving a combined sales total of of 2,835 units which is 145 percent higher than last February.

Vincentric has released the winners of their annual Best Value in America™ awards for 2017 and the Mitsubishi i-MiEV was selected as the winner in the Electric/Plug-in Hybrid segment. This is now the 13th year that Vincentric has presented these awards in recognition of vehicles that have the lowest projected cost of ownership based on their analysis of all the new vehicles available for the current model year.
In order to determine which vehicles offer the best overall value, Vincentric measures their cost-of-ownership by considering a specific set of factors that affect cost such as insurance, repairs, depreciation, opportunity cost, fees & taxes, maintenance, financing, and fuel. Taking these factors into account, Vincentric determines which vehicles have ownership costs that are lower than the other models in its segment. Vincentric evaluated more than 3,000 vehicle configurations throughout the U.S. using this method along with insurance profiles and a range of annual mileage intervals.

If you look under our “Service & Parts” tab you will already be able to find the pages that we have already released that feature Oil & Filter Changes Brake Service & Repair. The next page in this series, which will be released later this month, will focus on all things Tires. We will discuss the different types of tires maintenance, how to best prolong the life of your tires, and signs to know when it is time for a replacement set. This page should be released sometime in the next few weeks so be sure to keep your eye out for it and stop by the DELLA Mitsubishi Service Center anytime if you have any questions or concerns about your vehicle’s maintenance.
This weekend marks the start of the 2017 Chicago Auto Show which will run from February 11-20. As the nation’s biggest auto show you can expect that automotive companies everywhere will be on hand to showcase their latest vehicles and technologies to attendees eager to hear more about what the brands have come up with in the last year. Mitsubishi is certainly no exception to this event and they have just announced that one of the main features of their exhibit will be the debut of the new Limited Edition trim level for the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.
“As the brand sales leader, Outlander Sport does an exemplary job of offering consumers unmatched value at an attractive price,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, MMNA. “We’ve now taken that approach one step further by integrating additional standard equipment and technology into the Limited Edition at a price point that is unprecedented within the broader CUV segment.”
The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Limited Edition will include features like 18” Alloy Wheels, Rear View Camera, Alloy Fuel Door, Fog Lamps, Black Painted Mirrors, HID Headlamps, Heated Front Seats, a Limited Edition Badge, Aluminum Pedals, a display audio system with Smartphone Link for Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and a custom interior design with black fabric and red stitching on the Brake Lever, Steering Wheel, and Shift Knob.
This new trim level option will come before the ES base model in order to offer customers valuable enhancements at an affordable rate. It is expected to go on sale sometime towards the end of the month and it will have a starting MSRP of $21,995.

The Mitsubishi brand has announced that their total sales for the month of January reached 6,457 units which is 3.1 percent higher than sales for the first month last year. The number one seller for January was the Outlander Sport with sales reaching nearly 2,000 units.
The Outlander and Mirage were the two models with the highest year-over-year increases with sales up 9.5 percent and 36 percent respectively. Total month sales were 1,688 for the Outlander and 1,311 for the Mirage.
Finally, sales of the Lancer turned out an impressive result as well with the total number of units sold for this model in January coming to 1,468 units.
