Point Au Roche State Park Located on Lake Champlain, this beach is popular for playing volleyball, throwing a football around with your buddies or kids, boating, fishing, swimming, and spreading out a blanket for a lovely picnic and a cold beverage. Or you can go for a hike or bike along one of the trails and enjoy the beautiful habitats and marshes. Take your dog for a walk or a quick swim in the water too. In the winter, you can even ice fish here. The park also boasts two pavilions that you can rent for a family reunion or birthday party. Stop here at 19 Camp Red Cloud Rd. more 2. Plattsburgh City Beach Take a walk along the beaches here and let the kids take a dip in the water before refueling with a meal on the sandy shore. Don't forget the buckets and shovels, so the kids can make a sand castle while you get some rays. The Cabana Beach Bar onsite has snacks, ice cream, and alcoholic beverages. There is a lifeguard on duty in the summer, as well. The parking fee is $12, or you can get a seasonal parking pass on their website. If you are a resident, you can park for free with a beach parking permit. Visit here at 4 Beach Rd. Please drink responsibly and in moderation, and do not drink and drive. Alcohol is intended for adults of legal drinking age. 3. Bluff Point Golf Resort Get your game on here at this gorgeous course, located right on Lake Champlain. First opened in 1890, it's considered one of the oldest golf resorts in the country. If golfing isn't your thing, there is also a private beach with chairs, canoes, and kayaks. You'll be able to enjoy views of the Green Mountains of Vermont as well. The resort also has a stay-and-play package featuring cottages and suites.
