For some, this time of year is about leaf peeping and pumpkin spice, for others, it’s about seeing just how brave you are. If you relate better the latter, this blog is for you! We’re lucky that the Plattsburgh, NY; Burlington, VT; Potsdam, Lake Placid and Malone, NY areas are some of the oldest in the country. That means there’s plenty of spooky spots to visit in the spirit of Halloween. Check out some of our favorites below, and see them all here. Seneca Falls Historical Society Museum - Seneca Falls, NY After reports of sightings and paranormal activity, the Paranormal Investigators of Central New York visited in 2011. The sounds of two women having a conversation was recorded. They eventually returned and asked the women to move a ball on the table which then rolled into one of the investigator’s laps. Fort Ontario State Historic Site - Oswego, NY This site was featured on “Ghost Hunters” due to strange phenomena like odd lights and music, a child calling his cat, and a woman in an upstairs window. Now the “Guardian of the Northern Frontier” is a great place to visit this time of year. Durand-Eastman Park - Rochester, NY It’s said that the “White Lady” haunts this park. She is the ghost of a woman that lived in the 3 Lakes Pavilion that lost her daughter. To this day she continues searching for her while dressed in all white.
